This was slightly different from the usual. The computer system was
connected to the turnstyles within the sports ground, and everyone was
counted going in or out of any area. There were a number of display
screens invarious areas, such as the policy observation room, showing
the number of people in each area of the ground.
This involved a hardware solution as well as a software one as it was
necessary to design the hardware which interfaced with the computer
to count the people accurately as they passed through the gates in either
direction.
